ELEMED involves three EU member states - Cyprus, Greece and Slovenia and forms a strong consortium, comprised by a team of experts, from the marine, engineering and academic sector.

ELEMED prepares the ground for the introduction of cold ironing, electric bunkering and hybrid ships across the Eastern Mediterranean Sea corridor. ELEMED aims at studying all technical, regulatory, safety and financial issues related to the shore produced electricity and electric propulsion for vessels in Eastern Mediterranean region.

PROTASIS as a key technology partner of ELEMED , was responsible to conduct the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) in three ports for the implementation of cold-ironing technology and the detailed Engineering Design of the Pilot project in Killini port which provides a cold-ironing facility for two vessels.
